Join us for a festive night of live Jazz music as we raise support for the students of Marion G. Austin Christian School in Bolosse, Haiti!
A $10 donation will be greatly appreciated! All proceeds will go towards the financial needs of the students' tuition fund. The benefit concert will feature Two Denarii, which is a recently formed musical group whose goal is to use benefit concerts to raise money for organizations that are helping others. This jazz combo is made up of students from the New England Conservatory of Music and the Berklee College of Music. The name "Two Denarii" comes from the parable of the good Samaritan--They want to use their gifts of music to spread the kind of love that the good Samaritan showed.
"But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him. The next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper. 'Look after him,' he said, 'and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.'"
