Stay Connected

I hope you have enjoyed the beautiful weather we had this weekend!

Report cards were sent home on Friday. Please take a moment to check your student's report card. If you have concerns about grades, please contact your student's teacher. We had over 200 students make straight A's on their report card this nine weeks. Way to go Cougars!

Our Class of 2017 graduation date is May 26 at 7:00 PM at the UCF arena. Students should be ordering their cap and gown at this time. We will have Jostens on campus December 8 and Jan. 10. You can also order on-line at Jostens.com. The senior panoramic photo will be on December 1 at 10:15 AM in the gym. If you did not vote on-line for the senior shirt, please email Joel.Adkins@ocps.net with your shirt size to ensure you have a shirt for the panoramic photo.

The performance of Godspell was amazing. If you did not get to see it, we have one more performance on Tuesday, October 25 at 7:00 PM. Our Cougar swimmers had a phenomenal evening at the District meet last week. Ten of our students broke their personal records. We are very proud of them.

Have a great week!

Homecoming Dance
The 2016 Homecoming Dance is quickly approaching. This year's dance will take place Saturday, November 5, 2016 from 7:00-11:00 PM. Just as in the past, we are in need of your help. We will have two shifts available for volunteering:

If you are willing to help us that night, please joel.adkins@ocps.net and let us know which shift, or both, you are willing to help out!  We thank you in advance for all your help and look forward to seeing you on November 5.

Tips for Caring for Your Laptop
silver-keyboard2.jpg
  1. PLEASE buy a sleeve or case for your laptop. Protecting your computer this way, greatly reduces the risk of damage.
  2. Hold and lift the laptop by its base, not by the screen.
  3. Don't keep any liquids in the same backpack that your laptop is in.
  4. When placing your laptop in your backpack, have the side where the power button is facing up.
  5. Do not attempt to clean your laptop with anything wet. A soft, lint-free cloth is best.

Parents, please go online to www.myschoolapps.com to apply for free/reduced meals. A new application is required every school year and if you received free/reduced lunch last year, your application will expire soon.

The application is great for other services even if the student does not want breakfast or lunch.
Clinic
stethoscope_dr_pad.jpg
Please complete the Emergency Information Forms and return them to school. These forms provide the nurse with medical information, parent/guardian phone numbers and additional contact people in the event of an emergency.

Please make the nurse aware of any medical conditions that may impact your child's school day.

Reminder, students are not allowed to carry medications on them. We keep Tylenol and Ibuprofen in the clinic for student use and can administer it with parental consent.

Emergency medications can be carried with appropriate consent forms.
Medications need to be brought to school by a parent or guardian and appropriate consent forms completed.

Florida Vision Quest provides free vision services to Orange County Schools by screening all 9th grade students, if qualified students may be eligible for free eye glasses. Our 9th grade vision screenings will be done November 3, please make sure your child brings his/her glasses to school that day. It may take several weeks for the results, you will be notified if your child fails the screening and informed as to their eligibility for further services.
