Seeking Volunteers!
We here at Murray Middle School are always seeking parent involvement. What better way to be involved than by being a volunteer? Our PTSA needs volunteers on a regular basis for a series of special events and fundraising activities. Please contact Jodi Reams our PTSA President. Her contact information is located under the PTSA section on our school website.

All students entering into 7th grade are required to have the TDAP Booster shot. If your child has had this shot please return your blue card (Form #680) to the front office ASAP. It is imperative that you turn in your child's shot record to the front office so their name will be removed from the "Out of Compliance" list and will be able to report to class on Monday, August 18th (the first day of school.) A Message from our New Literacy Coach
Reading Between The Lions
|
Parents are critical partners in helping children learn. They are a child's first and most important teacher. It is impossible to overestimate the impact you have on your child's reading success. Learning to read takes practice, practice and more practice - much more than your child can get during a school day. Parents, this is why you need to be good reading role models. Reading at home with your child is important in developing the skills necessary to become a successful reader. Seeing adults who are important to them engaged in reading will speak loudly that reading is valued.
I am excited to join the Lion family and hope to encourage good reading habits in your den at home. I encourage you to check out justreadfamilies.org for valuable information on summer reading tips, recommended reading lists and many other resources. I am looking forward to personally meeting you and your child and know we will all be
roaring over reading this year!
