CVS Minute Clinics - Covered at the primary care copay level 

CVS Minute Clinics are walk-in medical clinics which are staffed by nurse practitioners and physician assistants who specialize in family health care every day with no appointment needed.

 

For convenience, CVS Minute Clinics are: 

  • Open 7 days a week, including evenings and weekends
  • No appointment necessary
  • Located in select CVS Pharmacies throughout the Valley
  • Offer a broad range of services

In addition to diagnosing and treating illnesses, injuries and skin conditions, they also provide a variety of wellness services, including vaccinations, physicals, screenings and monitoring for chronic conditions. For more information, please visit: www.cvs.com/minuteclinic.

Automatic Payment Calls for binder payments

Beginning April 30, 2015, Meritus is utilizing a trusted vendor to make outbound automated calls to our enrolled members who currently have not made their binder payment. 

 

The automated system will advise them to make their binder payment if they wish to remain enrolled in the Meritus plan they selected. Information will be provided regarding how to pay online, how to mail in a payment, or given the option to speak to a Customer Care representative. If they choose the Customer Care option, they will be routed there immediately.

Binder Payments for newly enrolled Individual Members

Please note that newly enrolled members will not be effectuated and materials will not be mailed until the binder payment is received. We suggest that the payment is made at the time of enrollment rather than choosing the "Bill Me" option.

 

After a member has paid, members will receive their ID Card, member packet and their Meritus member portal login information within 2 weeks. Their ID card arrives first, followed by their member packet. Then they will receive two separate letters containing their member portal login information: one with their user name, and the other with their temporary password.

Important Reminder: On and Off Market Plan and Network Changes

For all Off-Market plan or network changes, you can continue to send them directly to Meritus at EnrollmentChanges@MeritusAZ.com and we will process them.

 

Reminder: Effective April 30th, all On-Market plan or network changes must be processed through the Health Insurance Marketplace and may require a qualifying event. (Click here for examples of QLE's).  

 

The official notification Meritus received from the Marketplace is as follows: "In 2014, CMS allowed Issuers to (at the consumer's request) switch an enrollment group's QHP selection to another plan within the same metal level. Guidance for 2015 no longer allows Issuers to make this switch; accordingly, the FFM will no longer accept changes to QHP ID as received from Issuers via the Enrollment Data Reconciliation process."  

 

In the best interest of our mutual clients, we have allowed these changes. However, going forward, should your client need to make an On-Market plan or network change, please contact the Marketplace to justify this valid need.

Qualifying Life Event Enrollment

 

Meritus allows for OFF Marketplace plan enrollments year-round. Our regular application deadline is the 15th of the month in order to go live by the 1st of the following month, pending receipt of a binder premium. However, if an applicant misses the 15th of the month deadline but has a QLE, we will make an exception and accept the application for 1st of the following month effective date pending proof of a Qualifying Life Event notice* (QLE) and the receipt of the binder payment.

*Proof of a QLE is needed, i.e. a letter showing loss of credible coverage, letter from HR, etc. in order to extend this offer.  (Click here for examples of QLE's). 

 

New Guidelines regarding OFF Marketplace Enrollments with a QLE.

If you have a client who has experienced a QLE in the past 60 days, they are able to apply for our OFF Marketplace plans. In order for a plan to go live by the 1st of the month, the QLE application must be submitted prior to the last day of the preceding month. Note: We only accept 1st of the month live dates as prorated premiums are not offered. We will not retroactively enroll a member.
