Commitment  

The Meritus Commitment - Together for Better Health

 

Meritus was fortunate to receive greater than expected enrollment during the Open Enrollment Period (OEP) and are pleased to enroll these new members. It has been a struggle for us to catch up with the demand and we know that our new members are reaching out to brokers.  Thank you for spending extra time assisting these new Meritus members. We are making progress and below are few of steps we have taken to meet our member's needs:

  • Meritus made business decision as of 1/29/15 to enroll and effectuate all applicants regardless of payment status upon receipt of the on and off marketplace enrollment data. This means that we will automatically send new applicants their cards, enrollment packet and member portal login.

  • Meritus will credit any member who feels that they were not covered during the month of January and change their effective date to February 1st.

  • Meritus bills now include Member ID # and instructions on making a payment within 48 hours of receiving their applications.

  • We are sending members their login and password so that they can access to the member portal for better self-service.

  • To help alleviate the incoming Customer Care calls we have added additional Customer Care staff and will continue to monitor call volumes in the coming weeks.  

  • The FFM updated the payment screen were member payment will now auto populate to each carrier payment portal (this has caused Meritus and other carriers lots of issues). This will speed up the process for payment reconciliation for new applicants to receive cards and member materials.

 

 

In short, we are committed to meeting the expectations of our new members, we have made a lot of progress, but we have work to do.  We appreciate your input as valued brokers and we will keep you informed as we make improvements.

Nathan Slater, Enrollment Outreach Supervisor

Nathan has been in the insurance industry for 11 years, starting out in P&C claims as a regional staff adjuster, then moving into a Marketing Rep/Sales role for a large nationwide non-standard automobile general agency.  Nathan has a B.S. in Hotel & Restaurant/Hospitality Industries Management from Northern Arizona University. 

 

Stephanie McCulla, Commissions and Contract Coordinator

Stephanie spent 17 years with Safeway, in both accounting and financial services.  She was a Finance and Marketing Analyst for 6 years and a Finance Accountant for 8 years.  She holds an Associates in Organizational Management, and two certificates, in Organizational Leadership and Retail Management.

 

Sarah Gollwitzer, Small Group Account Manager

Sarah has been in the insurance industry for 9 years, beginning as a rate analyst for small group sales, then moving into a Senior Account Coordinator role for large group sales at LifeWise Health Plan. For the last 5 years, Sarah has worked at Medwise Partners on the underwriting side of the insurance industry as an individual, small, and large group medical underwriter.
