It's no doubt that adding a dash of floral to any space can make all the impact! We've chosen tulips as our favorite floral. In countless color varieties, these blooms create a natural elegance and ambiance that so beautifully brightens up the room.

Cecie Borschow
Honored at the 28th Annual Texas & Neighbors Regional Art Exhibition
At the reception on April 21, artist Cecie Borschow was presented with a Commemorative Award pin designating Signature status at the 28th Texas & Neighbors Regional Art Exhibition. This exhibition is held yearly at the Irving Art Center in Irving, Texas. Cecie has been juried into this prestigious five-state art competition 13 times. In 1994, after winning several 1st Place awards in watercolor over the years, she was presented with "Best of Show" for her 30" x 40" painting "Sunstruck Series: Palm Patterns" by juror of that year, nationally acclaimed artist and art book author, Jeanne Dobie,AWS,NWS. This is a multi-media competition with categories of Oil & Acrylic on Canvas, Water Media, Mixed Media, and Drawing. The artists who are selected each year to jury this competition are among the finest and well-known throughout the United States. Along with the wonderful art, exquisite floral arrangements were created by AIFD designers (courtesy of The Chocolate Rose), each complimenting a particular painting throughout the exhibit.

A Nod To Mod
Design & Style
Glamorous pearls, florals and feminine lines meet funky patterns and bold accents. Inspired by fashion design and ranging from large floral prints to bold stripes and bright eccentric patterns mixed with pastel hues, this new wave of design aesthetic suggests its roots are from Sixties Mod. In 2013, this is a fresh take on the sixties using lavenders, baby blues, mints, and peaches that are anchored by black or white. This design style easily incorporates mid-century pieces with a feminine and youthful twist. Check out our Nod To Mod Pinterest Board for more inspiration.

Stickers: Not Only For The Kids
Design & Decor Trends
Remember when stickers were fun?
A sticker for a good test score, a sticker for craft and play time, even stickers in the Cracker Jack box! If you feel that your space could use some more energy, but don't want to commit to a wild color or bold print, just try dipping your toes in the pool of fun brought to you by decorative wall stickers. Riding the wave of this trend Manhattan's own Jonathan Alder has launched a line of wall decals that are true to their name - "Wall Pops". Decorative wall stickers can be found for just about any style. Their versatility and removable nature allow them to be placed in a verity of applications. For instance, for privacy and ambient light try a translucent sticker decal as a window insert.
