Birmingham In Stitches Returns this Month

Yarn is headed to downtown Birmingham in a big way. The Birmingham Public Arts Board is preparing to hold a Birmingham In Stitches event from September 19th - 28th, with an extension until October 11th based on the condition of the yarn. The community-based public art installation event promotes existing public art programs, such as the CityScapes program, and engages the broader community in public art. This project will be based around the concept of "yarn bombing", which involves placing knitted or crocheted objects onto trees, parking meter posts, light posts, bicycle racks, and benches. A special thank you to JoAnn Fabric and Craft, Michaels and Walmart who have supported this event. For more information visit www.bhamgov.org/BhamInStitches.
