Message from the Superintendent       

 

I hope all of our families and faculty had a restful and memorable Thanksgiving break! Schools are back in full swing and heading into the second half of the second nine weeks of school. So, please don't wait until the end of the semester to become a Parent Portal regular and to exchange communication with your children's teachers if you have any questions or concerns. Parent-teacher communication has a tremendous impact on student achievement!

 'All In' for tonight's game      
  
  There are additional stakes for the 6A Oklahoma State Championship tonight against the Norman North Timberwolves and the Jenks Trojans at Boone Pickens Stadium at Oklahoma State University. Earlier this week, Norman Public Schools' Superintendent Dr. Joe Siano challenged Jenks Superintendent Dr. Kirby Lehman to a wager on the outcome of tonight's game - and it's one he definitely doesn't want to lose.  Read MORE >>

Teacher of the Year tapped from each NPS school

 

  Each school within NPS has selected its 2012-13 site Teacher of the Year! The 24 site winners now vie to be selected a finalist for NPS Teacher of the Year and, ultimately, the district's winner and entry for the state Teacher of the Year competition. The NPS site winners are:

Local businesses, individuals show support for NNHS

  

 

  At about 3:45 p.m. today, 16 charter buses will depart from NNHS, transporting more than 600 students to tonight's 6A football State Championship game in Stillwater. Nearly the same number of buses did the same to Tulsa on Nov. 23 so that more NNHS students could attend the 6A Semifinal game against Owasso, which was played at Union High School's Tuttle Stadium.

NPS deemed 'Storm Ready'


After a comprehensive application process that began after Norman experienced a tornado at the end of the school day in spring 2012, NPS has been certified by the National Weather Service as "Storm Ready." Only 2,000 sites (which include communities, schools, universities, etc.) have been certified by the NWS as Storm Ready.
