Message from the Superintendent
Have you ever been curious to walk through the halls of schools in Norman that your children don't attend? Soon, you will get your chance and I hope you will encourage your neighbors, co-workers or friends in Norman who don't have children to come along with you. Mark you calendars for Sunday, Oct. 21, from 2-4 p.m., when every NPS school will be open for what we are calling NPS Community Open House. Read MORE >>

Meet Montie @ Kennedy
It's ironic that she's female, even though she bears what most consider a man's name. That's because Montie Koehn is successful at conquering the power of false perceptions.
Newly hired by the Norman Board of Education to lead Kennedy Elementary, Koehn was a successful Oklahoma City Public Schools administrator for 12 years and with the district for 22 years. She perhaps would have stayed in Oklahoma City for the rest of her career if the opportunity to lead Kennedy had not recently materialized.

CS Department of the Year tapped |

Where would we be without you? That is what NPS Superintendent Dr. Joe Siano and the Board of Education asked at last week's Board meeting when recognizing the district's Utility Department as the Central Services' Department of the Year
and Dave Landez of the department as its
Employee of the Year.

Wanted: Partners in Education
Are you a member of the Norman Chamber of Commerce and want to explore the possibility of your business partnering with a NPS school? Of building a partnership with a school that doesn't have to be about dollars and cents but more about your employees' time and talents?
