Message from the Superintendent

I hope your family enjoyed this past Labor Day weekend and that everyone is getting settled into the new school year!

After the last Nside was distributed, we received more news regarding the district's ACT college entrance scores for 2012. You should know that not only did the district's average score increase, it was the highest (tied with Edmond) of any district in the state with more than one high school. Moreover, Norman North was tied with Edmond North for having the highest average score of any traditional high school in Oklahoma and Norman High also posted among the highest score in the state. We are so proud of the hard work of our students and the dedication of the NPS faculty to ensure our graduates are college ready!

Board of Education increases NPS employees' salaries

The Norman Board of Education has approved a teacher pay raise for the 2012-2013 school year. This action came at the Board's meeting on Tuesday and follows 99 percent of voting Professional Educators of Norman members last week approving the district's recommended compensation for certified staff for the current school year.

NHS Reunion Run Sept. 29

Dust off your running shoes and get training; it's almost time for the 3rd Annual Norman High School Reunion Run!  To be held on Saturday, September 29, the annual 5K and 1-mile Fun Run benefits Norman High's PTA and proceeds will help fund a new History Hall for the school, as well.
