The first day of school (Aug. 22) is just around the corner and we have been hard at work during the summer break planning what we hope is the most successful year to date for NPS students and faculty. As you prepare your family for the beginning of the school year, there is much we would like to share with you.

Back to School 2012-2013
|
|
Building principals are hard at work to make the 2012-2013 the most successful year to date for NPS students. Confirmation of enrollment continues through Aug. 14 for some schools; however, the dates vary for each grade. Dates have also been set for elementary and middle school back-to-school nights.

Board of Education learns state lowers start-of-year pupil funding |

At its Aug. 6 public meeting, the Board of Education learned that NPS would be receiving less funding from the state for the first half of the school year than it did last year.

NPS Launches New Website
|
|
In time for the 2012-2013 school year, NPS has debuted a new Web site. Still found at www.norman.k12.ok.us, development of the new Web site was a priority for the district and Board of Education in order to enhance and improve communication with parents and the community.

Extreme heat prompts changes in practice times
|
|
Norman Public Schools athletic teams and other groups that conduct practices outdoors - like our NPS marching bands - will be making adjustments as to when and how they practice, as a result of the extreme heat conditions.
