Participant Spotlight

What is your dream foursome?
Lydia Ko, Lexi Thompson, Stacy Lewis, Sei Young Kim

If a song was played at the first tee box, what song would be played for you? Sledgehammer by: Fifth Harmony

If you were stranded on a desert island, what 3 items would you take with you?

Family, Food, Cell phone

If you were granted three wishes, what would you ask for? Dog, a trip with family this summer, to watch and follow a PGA tournament (I've watched the recent LPGA Swinging Skirts)

What is your favorite Core Value and Why? Sportsmanship - it is important to behave properly whether we win or lose the game.  We do this by shaking hands, cheering for good plays, being respectful to other players.

Being able to accept if we don't get a good shot sometimes, we can't win all the time. There's always a good day and not so good day. What matters the most is how we behave on the course. I would like to have more fun even on tournaments.

What's been your most memorable experience in golf so far? Being able to participate in the Drive, Chip, Putt National Championship in Augusta, Georgia.  It was an amazing experience for me.

Adaptive PE Program

The First Tee of Greater Sacramento's Adaptive PE Program is a program that offers free golf lessons to schools in the Sacramento area. Schools bring participants on Wednesday for a 9 week programs. The participants of this program have disabilities including mid to severe autism, down syndrome and blind participants.

Through a partnership with UCP of Greater Sacramento, we are able to provide transportation to bring students to William Land golf course. This program has been able to expand and now cover the transportation cost with the partnership with UCP, and a grant from the Tiechert Foundation.  This allowed the program to go from serving an average of 70 students to over 120 students per year.   Currently Rosa Parks, H. Johnson, Burbank, Kennedy, John Still High Schools and CSUS are at part of this program.
