The First Tee 2015 Network Meeting

March was full of momentum for The First Tee of Greater Sacramento as we had a team of 14 including board, coaches, staff and a participant at The First Tee 2015 Network Meeting in Dallas Texas.  The event featured several keynote speakers, educational breakouts and best practice-sharing networking sessions.  We heard from David L. Cook, PhD, & author of "Seven Days in Utopia," Admiral Howard, the highest ranking woman in naval history, David Feherty from The Golf Channel, Annika Sorenstam and George W. Bush!

Ken Morton, Sr., Founder of The First Tee of Greater Sacramento, was honored with the Jack Stephens Leadership Award for his outstanding service, leadership and commitment to the organization's mission.

Our Executive Director, Angie Dixon, received The First Tee Chairman's Award from Joe Louis Barrow, Jr., CEO of The First Tee. She was recognized for her support to local chapters and the home office, which has allowed them to impact the lives of young people in a meaningful way.

Our chapter took so much away from this week!  We are looking forward to incorporating what we have learned to make the experiences for our young people even greater in 2015 and beyond!
