We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Point West Rotary, for making our California Eagles the beneficiary of their annual golf tournament this year. It was a great day out at Morgan Creek GC, a few of our Eagles even played in the tournament, and one our juniors, Cameron Champ, amazed everybody with his long drives. In addition to the golf event, Point West Rotarians have also been long time committed volunteers in the program, coming out each week to help at classes held Mondays at William Land GC & Tuesdays at Haggin Oaks GC.

The California Eagles is a golf program for people of all ages with special needs. The Program includes, but is not limited to, people with Down Syndrome, Muscular Dystrophy, Cerebral Palsy,
Autism, Multiple Sclerosis and Attention Deficit Disorder. Participants can also be deaf, blind, or recovering from heart attacks and strokes.
Thank you again Point West Rotary for all of your support!

The First Tee of Greater Sacramento would like to introduce junior golfer, Dillon Hanagan from Haggin Oaks. Dillon enjoys participating in the Play Leagues to improve his golf skills he learns in the Year Round After School Program. It is not surprising that Dillon's favorite Core Value is "Sportsmanship." He truly leads by example in our programs at Haggin Oaks and constantly has a smile on his face, no matter the circumstances. In Dillon's spare time, he plays basketball and is a VERY good actor!

The girls join the EWGA for a day
|
The Executive Women's Golf Association of Sacramento have been long time supporters of The First Tee of Greater Sacramento. Each year, they hold the Swing FORE Girls event in which three
EWGA members and their friends pair up with a girl golfer from The First Tee of Greater
Sacramento for a fun 18 hole competition. This has been a great experience for both the junior & EWGA players, and all look forward to the event each year. Proceeds from the day go to support girl specific programs within the organization, offer golferships for girls who would otherwise be unable to play, and to award one college scholarship annually for a girl graduate of the program.
Thank you EWGA Sacramento, for partnering with us to make a difference in the lives of the young ladies we serve.

Little Linker Play Begins
|
Little Linkers is a playing program in which children ages 7 to 12 have the opportunity to play nine holes weekly at many of The First Tee of Greater Sacramento Program Locations. This unique program is beneficial for all levels, in that it brings recreational and competitive golf together. For the first seven weeks of the program, participants have the chance to prepare for the eighth and final week of the season at the Club Championship. The winners from that event, than have the
privilege of playing the annual "Tournament of Champions," which has been in existence for over 25 years. This event is rare in that, participants are playing against Little Linkers from other program locations whom they have not met. As coaches, this is our favorite part of the job because we then get to see The First Tee Life Skills in action along with competitive golf skills. The Little Linkers Program is offered at 6 of our Program Locations. For more information and locations click here.

|
The Pee Wee Play League is in its second year of existence and we could not be more excited to see our youngsters learn the ins and outs of the course! This program allows our golfers ages 4 to 6 to play golf in a safe environment without feeling rushed or having to keep up with public play. After completing the program,
participants understand the parts of a golf hole, basic rules and etiquette and have a general understanding of how they can begin to apply what they have learned in previous classes to the golf course. For more information on this program, please click on the course below.
