BACK ROW: Brandon Baumgarten, Bryce Johnson, Eamonn Coughlin, Beomyun Han and  Akiela Moses.  FRONT ROW: Sara Scarlett, Hannah Gregg and Makenzie Shivers

We thank all of our scholarship donors for making possible the scholarship awards provided to our 2013 scholars. In total, $10,000 was awarded to these juniors as they begin their college educations. In addition to the scholarship awards, both Sara Scarlett and Eamonn Coughlin were presented with "Firstee" awards to recognize their outstanding community service.

Awards were handed out after play at our 22nd annual Jr Sr Championship on June 28th at Haggin Oaks. It was an excellent event with a sold out field and we thank the many players and contributors who helped make this such a memorable day!

"Live Green!"

The First Tee of Greater Sacramento will participate in an environmental education and course improvement program called "Live Green!," developed by The First Tee in partnership with The Toro Company and Audubon International. On July 21, over 100 young people will have the opportunity to learn about sustainable golf practices while making environmental enhancements to William Land Golf Course.

"Live Green!" brings attention to the importance of caring for the environment. Through The First Tee Nine Healthy Habits, health and wellness topics are shared with participants to consider both in the game of golf as well as in their personal lives. The First Tee of Greater Sacramento encourages young people to explore the health of their community and discover how they can give back and care for the environment.

Quote from TFTGS Parents
"The First Tee of Greater Sacramento has made a profound impression on John.  Through the Life Skill Programs, John has learned integrity is essential in all aspects of life.  He has learned to be humble in victory and gracious in defeat.  This program does a lot more than just putting on golf tournaments; it gets to the core of his personality.  We as parents couldn't be more happier with the way The First Tee of Greater Sacramento has reinforced all the moral issues we have taught over the years to prepare our son to be a productive, honest and outstanding citizen member of society."
