"Although I'm grateful for the name my parents have given me, a spiritual name, as your website suggests, is a vibratory blessing which would, in just a few words, summarize my vibratory signature as a spiritual being on this human journey. I will hold this name with great reverence, for it will be a mirror of my soul."

Sat Nam Dear 3HO Family,

August is the month of Yogi Bhajan's birthday celebration!
  • 11-day meditation starts on August 15.
  • The special morning sadhana with simultaneous world-wide Guru Ram Das chant is on August 26, and this year it will be live-streamed! so no matter where you are, you can join in.
  • And the big birthday party is at The Ranch on August 24. Get all the details here.
The KundaLiving theme this month is The Three Minds - the Positive, Negative and Neutral Minds. Learn what they are, how they work, and how to master them. Yogi Bhajan's lecture, Eliminate Mental Intrigues is a fascinating explanation of how to master the slippery and twisting facets of the mind, so that it takes you to the Infinite.

The Teacher Training Immersion course is well underway in the Langar Hall downstairs. We are blessed to hear their voices chanting
as we work upstairs in the 3HO offices, knowing another family of teachers will soon be sharing the teachings of Yogi Bhajan throughout the world.

Winter Solstice Sadhana preparations are underway, and we are excited to offer another blissful, transcendent event where we can come together as a spiritual family again. Registration opens September 4th. It's time to make your Solstice plans!

Peace to all, light to all, love to all.

Facebook Quote of the Month
"If you must do sadhana by yourself, then while you are chanting, imagine a million others all around you. Hear them all chanting, with you in the middle, not moving at all. Feel that you do not chant physically, and yet are leading the chant and letting the chant lead you."  -Yogi Bhajan, Aquarian Teacher Training Manual

KundaLiving August 2013

"Conquer your mind to conquer the world." A lot of people in the world today identify themselves with their minds. "I think therefore I am" is a very common idea. Yet, in the science of Kundalini Yoga, you are not your mind. The mind is your servant. You have to understand it and train it so that it serves your soul.

3 minds

What are The Three Minds? The human being is made up of Ten Bodies. The second, third, and fourth bodies are mental bodies called the three functional minds: the Negative Mind, the Positive Mind, and the Neutral Mind.

The month of August is a time of setting in motion the momentum necessary to carry forth the next phase of our dreams, goals and ambitions. This palatable sense of urgency, as if we have suddenly awakened from a deep slumber, will unleash a wave of creative momentum on planet Earth.

Sewa Singh meditating

By Sewa Singh

"I excused my preponderance of negative thoughts by suggesting to myself that they came from some mysterious positive origins. What a joke on myself.

Yogi Bhajan

"The one power and gift you have from the Almighty is the mind. When you will surrender your mind to your soul, then the soul will make God surrender to you."

monkey mind Conquer the Monkey Mind with the 28th Pauree of Japji

By Dev Suroop Kaur

The yogis often refer to the freewheeling, erratic nature of the mind as the 'monkey mind.' A scattered mind creates scattered habits. "Man jeetai jag jeet" - this line translates simply as "By conquering your mind, you can conquer the world."

"I wrote this song in the late Seventies at a Winter Solstice. I wanted to wake people up for Sadhana in a fun way. This was drill sargeant 'get your butts out of your sleeping bags and your toochases over to morning sadhana.' People were laughing out loud from their tents and getting up."

meditator All About the 3 Mental Bodies

By Nirvair Singh

Yogis believe you have a thousand-petalled lotus that's partly etheric and partly philosophical at the top center of your head. For every petal, a complete thought is produced every second.

Yogi Bhajan Yogi Bhajan Lecture: Eliminate Mental Intrigues

"To stop the games and mental intrigues and to truly be happy you must develop a consistent attitude of human life in which you can excel above time and space, using your mind at the frequency of your soul. Tell your mind, "I am the source of God. I am the soul within myself. I am living with the light of God, therefore, you must go with me."

Amanda Woodhams Seva Outside of Solstice

By Amanda Woodhams

"At Summer Solstice 2013 I was struck by how all participants were contributing meaningfully to the experience of other attendees through seva. It got me thinking-how were these people using their extraordinary hearts and minds to impact the world outside Solstice?"

By Guru Tera Kaur

"I don't especially like the taste of beets, but I learned long ago that they soothe my digestion, strengthen my elimination, and boost my energy. I came up with this recipe so I could like beets as much as they like me."

Amandeep The Journey of Japji: Your Sound Vehicle to Pure Consciousness

By Amandeep Singh

All That Is, is contained in the 35 sounds of the Gurmukhi script, which flowed from the mouth of Guru--the enlightened one. With all their rhythm, structure, ascends and descends, every sound is divine. The structures of the words are like liquid, flowing like the sacred Ganges, allowing many meanings.

"When you apply the mind, it becomes engaged in the task you give it, so it won't confront you. Talk to your mind. Create a relationship to apply and engage it.  Tell your mind, 'I am the source of God. I am the soul within myself. I am living with the light of God, therefore, you must go with me.'  Create a partnership with your mind."
