Playa Animal Rescue Is Educating Local Community Children!

PAR recognizes the need to educate kids on the humane treatment of animals.  We are reaching out to local schools and our  shelter recently played host to 20 sixth grade students.  The kids met our on-site vet, Dr. Mauricio, and learned how to properly and lovingly care for dogs  including nutrition, grooming, play time, and vet care.  The sixth graders also learned about volunteer opportunities and how they can make a difference in our world.  Play time was a huge hit...every child played with our shelter dogs and puppies and had a ball!  Following the event, Dr. Mauricio received a hand-written card from each student expressing his or her gratitude.  It truly touched our hearts!  PAR will continue to host school groups and educate future generations on treating dogs humanely... because animals should have rights, too.

Please contact Playa Animal Rescue if you are interested in volunteer support.

Rescue Update
Mocha Gets a Second Chance!

Little Mocha was recently rescued from a tough life on the streets of Playa del Carmen -- and she's only seven months old. Like most street dogs we find, she is extremely thin and she is being treated for hookworm. Her right hind leg was apparently broken at some point and it healed on its own. However, without proper care, the leg did not heal correctly and Mocha cannot put weight on it. The good news is that the leg does not cause her pain.  She is a very loving and affectionate puppy who still enjoys her play time!  With your generous support, Mocha will soon be available for adoption.  Who can resist that precious face?

Please consider a donation to help with Mocha's vet care. The sooner we can move our healthy dogs to permanent homes, the sooner we can rescue more dogs from abuse and neglect. We need your help and together, we will continue saving lives...one dog at a time.

PAR's Featured Pet is Daisy...

Meet Daisy, one of the world's most loving dogs.  She will steal your heart immediately!  Daisy is a medium size Labrador mix who weighs about 30 pounds and is approximately three years old.  Sweet as can be, she will nuzzle up to you and provide all the affection you can handle!  She'll rest her head on your lap,  express her loyalty, and melt your heart.  Daisy has been at the shelter a while now and would make a wonderful pet.  She's great with other dogs and children, loves to play, and craves a forever home.  Please become a "PAR Parent" and open your heart and home to this  wonderful dog.  Adoption season at the PAR shelter  is now in full swing!  Please contact Playa Animal Rescue if you are interested in adopting Daisy.

30 Adoptions in 5 Weeks!

That's right...just five weeks ago, PAR had 90 dogs in our shelter.  In just five weeks' time, we sent 30 healthy dogs to their forever homes including our three-legged hero, Max. What a success story!
Congratulations to all of our new PAR Parents!

Dr. Mauricio Trains Well!

PAR's in-house vet is not only a great doctor, he's also a super trainer!  Dr. Mauricio spends time daily working with our shelter dogs on manners and good behavior.  This is part of PAR's mission to prepare dogs for their forever homes.  The results are amazing!
PAR's onsite vet clinic still needs equipment to be fully functional. Please help us reach our goal to finish the clinic.
