Land Use Change and Sea Level Rise

WHRC's research spans five decades of mapping and monitoring Cape Cod's environmental changes while illustrating the impact of the potential effects of sea level rise on the land cover, property, and infrastructure of the region.

NSF has awarded Assistant Scientist Rob Spencer a grant to conduct polar systems research. The funding will make it possible to study and greatly improve understanding of the feedbacks among climate change, permafrost thaw, and atmospheric carbon.

A group of scientists, research associates, communications experts, and government staff from the United States and Mexico recently met at the Woods Hole Research Center to address the needs of REDD+ in Mexico, also known as MREDD+.

Polaris Project 2012 Returns Home

The Polaris Project team is back from Siberia, their biggest trip yet. Thirty-three people participated in what was almost certainly the largest international expedition to the Siberian Arctic. Read about the trip from the students and scientists that were there.

WHRC supporters give because they are concerned about climate disruption, they care about the future of the world's great ecosystems, and they want to see human prosperity develop within the vision of a verdant Earth.

Sea Level Rise is No Joke

Last year I wrote in this space about a presidential candidate who claimed that scientists were manipulating data about climate change in order to bring in research dollars, suggesting that climate change is a hoax. This year, we have witnessed the nominee of one of the major parties make a joke about the rising oceans. Read on...
