WV Food & Farm Coalition News
Dear

It's July, and much like side-dressing a field of knee high corn, we're working on building the foundation for the future of the West Virginia Food & Farm Coalition.

We've hoping that in the next year, we'll have a couple new rabbits in our hat: programs that get us out to you to talk about the needs of your community; a collaborative push toward cooperative business structures; and an in-depth report on what types of food businesses are working well in West Virginia. And that's just a few.

Keep an eye out here and on www.wvfoodandfarm.org for all of that and more!

Sincerely,
The West Virginia Food & Farm Coalition

These priorities include cottage foods; increasing local products at institutions; tax incentives for harvesting, storing, and transporting food donations; and land-use transparency. Read on!

"I'd love to buy local - but it's too expensive!" We've all heard this before, but as it turns out, it's not always true - especially for restaurants. This webinar featured best practices for restaurants who want to local source, and demonstrated the Local Food Cost Calculator, a tool to figure out exactly how much more local food could cost a restaurant per serving.  Read on!
