Reach - Resources & News for Evolving Organizations

Consultants to Organizations | March 2015

As we approach Spring (hard to believe during such a snowy winter...) all of us at The Singer Group have already determined that 2015 will be a successful and prosperous year for our clients! We have begun taking new steps and new strides by further expanding our services and collaborating with a fellow consulting team, DRW. In addition to our strategic alliance with DRW, we would like to introduce a new team member, Dr. Lucy Holman

With this issue, we take the opportunity to point out a few ways for you to make the coming months full of memorable moments and gratitude for your employees' work ethic.

The Tangible Value of Gratitude at Work

The Tangible Value of Gratitude at Work

There is much research to prove that recognition and rewards have quite an impact on employee engagement, which, in turn, has a substantial impact on everything that's meaningful to organizations: productivity, profitability, customer satisfaction, the list goes on.

So, the difficult part is not proving that engagement matters and that, therefore, recognition and rewards matter. Rather, the difficulty lies in finding ways to recognize and reward employees that are meaningful to the recipients.

What employers often neglect to consider, though, is the value of simply showing gratitude - of saying, "Thank you."

What's New?

Paula is now certified in brain-based coaching from the NeuroLeadership Institute. She brings new research and practice to support you in obtaining the results you want and putting new insights into action.

One of our clients decided to leave their step system of salary increases and adopt a progressive policy. We're working with their leadership, union and a labor management committee to make that happen.

Paula is again teaching Organization Behavior and Management at the Johns Hopkins University's Bloomberg School of Public Health. It's the only exposure many of these physicians, nurses, health care administrators and others receive to the important workplace topics of conflict, group process, motivation theory and practice, culture, engagement, trust, etc.

We are working with a major medical association on issues pertaining to Physician Leadership.

Performance management that align with goals is increasingly important. We are designing such a program for a Town in Maryland.

Paula is facilitating a one-day workshop on Succession Planning. The outcome of the day will be an outline of a plan and the process and tools to complete it.

We are facilitating major compensation and performance management studies in the midwest and west coasts.
