Farrah-Staff Photos

At Cardinal Property Management, we are acutely aware that our customers are responsible for providing the food on our tables, the shoes on our children's feet, and the roofs over our heads. That's why we hold our client relationships gently in the palms of our hands. All our actions are laser focused on tending to the needs of our boards and the communities they guide. One hundred percent of our effort is spent nurturing all of our relationships from our newest to our most long standing.

We are proud to welcome our three newest clients: Rocky Point Community Association-Nohl Ranch, an association of single family homes in Anaheim Hills; Seaview Townhomes Association, a condominium community overlooking the Pacific Ocean in San Clemente; and The Terraces at Corona del Mar, a condominium community in Corona del Mar also overlooking the Pacific Ocean. We look forward to growing our new partnerships with Rocky Point, Seaview and The Terraces as Cardinal takes root in these communities and enables them to thrive as effective and efficient associations.

We are also delighted to welcome four new staff members to our dynamic team-Carlos Santos, Iliana Belinc, Roxie Roque, and Rane Robinson. Carlos supports La Mirada Landmark, one of the recent additions to the Cardinal family of clients. He is the day porter and maintenance assistant. Iliana brings her enthusiastic talent to La Mirada Landmark as well, as the activities director. Roxie provides administrative support to our account managers and works in our copy and mailing room. Rane is the newest addition to our administrative team.

These new additions to the Cardinal team bring us to 27 full-time dedicated employees focused on providing stellar service to our client directors and homeowners in support of maintaining and increasing the quality of life in all our Cardinal communities.

Getting Classy

Directors learned about judicial and non-judicial foreclosures and personal money judgments during the Cardinal-hosted Assessment Collection class in mid-June. Community Association Attorney Sandra Gottlieb of SwedelsonGottlieb, taught the interactive session.

Mark your calendars as a reminder to attend our newest class on August 29th at 6:30 p.m. For the first time, we will be covering "Nuisances." We all have them.  How do you define them? How do you deal with them? The class will cover methods to determine what constitutes a nuisance, how to deal with them whether they're caused by an owner or a tenant, a board's legal obligations, and ways to handle neighbor-to-neighbor disputes. Join us for this timely class, and enjoy some refreshments and a lively discussion with Attorney James McCormick of Peters & Freedman, LLP.

For complete course descriptions and to register, visit our website. All classes are held at Cardinal Property Management, AAMC/ACMF 1290 N. Hancock Street, Suite 103, Anaheim 92807.

Congratulations to Christine Santisteban for earning the Certified Community Association Manager (CCAM) designation from the California Association of Community Managers (CACM).

Cardinal Champions for a Cause

Irene Neelis, Reception and Escrow; and JoAnn Von Dollen, Director of Operations; were chosen as Cardinal's Champions for a Cause (CCC) during recent staff meetings. CCC is a program internal to Cardinal that allows employees and the company to team together to donate to employees' favorite charitable organizations throughout the year. Employees who participate in Casual Friday dress day each week donate a small sum of money to do so. Cardinal matches the collected funds, and a participating employee's name is randomly chosen during a staff meeting. The chosen employee gets to name the charity to receive the funds collected for two months.

Irene Neelis

Irene was chosen to designate the recipient of the March/April fund. She chose St. Jude's Children's Hospital. "I just lost my beloved husband but to lose a child must be even more unbearable.  Anyone who has a child who has been sick knows how hard it is, but to have a child who has a deadly disease can be devastating," said Irene. "At St. Jude's,  no child is denied treatment based on race, religion, or the family's ability to pay. I can't imagine what it's like to have your child look into your eyes and ask, 'What is wrong with me?' or 'Why me?' and you don't have an answer. Maybe one day we will have an answer through research and donations.  Please consider St. Jude's Children's Hospital when you are considering a donation."

JoAnn Von Dollen

JoAnn's charity of choice for Cardinal's May/June 2013 donation was to Susan G. Komen for the cure for breast cancer research. The signing of the National Cancer Act of 1971 by then U.S. President Richard Nixon is generally viewed as the beginning of the war on cancer. It was this legislation along with donations from companies and individuals that funded the necessary research that helped my mother and my cousin fight their own wars on breast cancer. While it gave my mom only one additional year, it was still a year we had as a family. I will always cherish her memory and positive influence on our lives. The strides breast cancer research made from when my mom died in 2005 to when my cousin was diagnosed in 2011 are phenomenal.  My cousin has been cancer free for more than a year, and her prognosis is wonderful.  Her three young children and our entire family owe her current health and future prospects to past, present, and future research efforts that get funded through donations.

Fundraising Update-Leukemia and Lymphoma Society

Light the NightCardinal and our business partners are pressing toward the annual Light the Night Walk, a major fundraising event for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), the world's largest voluntary health agency dedicated to blood cancer. The event will be in the fall. The LLS mission: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. LLS funds lifesaving blood cancer research around the world and provides free information and support services.

Cardinal has been supporting LLS and its mission for many years. Our participation in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Light The NightŪ Walk funds therapies and treatment advances for blood cancer patients. Our fundraising efforts help save lives.

Cinquo De Mayo Fundraiser

Cardinal hosted a loco Cinco de Mayo event in May at the American Legion Hall in Placentia. We humbly thank the American Legion for donating the use of their hall, and the "Power of Blues" and "Eastside Goove" bands donated their talents all evening. We are grateful to the following sponsors who donated raffle prizes and supplies: Optimal Outsource, Garland Restoration, PrimeCo Painting & Construction, ServPro of Tustin, Artistic Maintenance, Vinco Construction, and Antis Roofing and Waterproofing.

Thank you to all our friends, family, and business partners who supported the evening and joined in the raucous good time! We raised nearly $3,500.

Our next fund raising event is our Bunco and Silent Auction night to be held on Friday, September 6 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in a luau theme. We are hosting this event again this year at the request of last year's participants!  Mark your calendars and join us!
Staff Movie Night

Cardinal Property Management, AAMC/ACMF, team members and their families took a break on a recent Friday night to celebrate summer. The group enjoyed a barbecue and pool party at a private home, and watched Disney Pixar's "Up" on an outdoor movie screen. Sunset Flix set up and operated a 184 inch screen and popped popcorn for the group as the Cardinal Kids watched from the swimming pool and Jacuzzi.

El Torito Tacos and Seafood Catering cooked beef and chicken tacos on the patio, and filled the neighborhood with mouth-watering aromas.
