See what's new with DOD!

It's American Line Dancing with Allen Isidro this Saturday
5/9/15, 1-3 p.m.!

Allen Isidro

Allen Isidro is back with more line dancing fun! Learn a dance style which involves a repeated sequence of steps, where a group of people dance in several rows, taking the same steps at the same time to a mix of popular music. Allen will offer a fun, new approach to low-impact exercise in his American Line Dancing class!

Jennifer Gordon

Jennifer is a native of the East Bay Area, and as a mixed race, African American woman with precursors and genetic predispositions to diabetes, she is excited to help develop Dance Out Diabetes for those who are looking for a new way to incorporate exercise into their lives. Her background is in Business Administration and Computer Science. Music is a staple in her life as she is a vocalist and has a personal love for all dance, having participated in modern dance, jazz and belly-dancing.

Welcome, Jennifer!

Grace's Message:
May Celebration

Welcome Everyone!

For me the month of May brings new beginnings and a time for renewal. As a diabetic, I see this month as a chance to reaffirm my commitment to a healthier lifestyle. It's the little things that I can add to my routine that will make big differences. For example, drinking more water, getting enough sleep, reaching for nuts to snack on instead of the big bag of potato chips. Adding these to my routine of checking my blood glucose and exercise (walking daily, oh yeah, gotta take my meds) will keep me on tack to being healthier.

I would like to invite you to join me in this "renewal". We'll write down some goals, (like the ones I wrote above), do them for three months, and see how much we can accomplish.

Let's Dance!
