Staying Healthy to Prevent Diabetes Complications

Although type 2 diabetes cannot be cured, many of the scary complications that accompany this disease can be prevented.

Each month, the new series, Staying Healthy to Prevent Diabetes Complications, discusses

"lifestyle choices" that pack a powerful punch against the dangers of diabetes.

The series is written by Barbara Quinn, MS, RD, CDE, and you can find

Ginger.io: Use Your Smartphone to Get Insights into Personal Health Patterns

Ginger.io is a small startup on a big mission to change how people living with chronic conditions connect through health information using an iphone or android smartphone. They are also supporting DOD!

As part of Ginger.io's win at Sanofi US's 2011 Data Design Diabetes Innovation Challenge, people with type 2 diabetes have the chance to use their smartphone app to collect data and partner with their loved ones- for free!

 What's in it for YOU:
  • Personal insights into your health patterns
  • Improved connection to your care team
  • Satisfaction that you're contributing to science to benefit the diabetes community

Those interested can learn more about Ginger.io and/or sign up to get started!

A representative from Ginger.io will be at this Saturday's Soul Line Dance event to discuss the process in greater detail and answer any questions.
