This program is a virtual tool anyone with computer access can utilize. Participants create a secure online account, and track health markers such as activity levels, A1C, blood pressure, cholesterol, weight, and diet information.
Point values are allotted to daily entries of health markers, and each month, CASH (hello!), DOD merchandise, and care prizes are distributed at the DOD dance and health screening event. The wellness program also offers a library of free information on diabetes, nutrition, exercise, and other dimensions of wellness to encourage and support its users. New features will include:
- Wellness challenges with teams you create (or you can go solo flight)
- Monthly Preventing Diabetes Complications curriculum
- Ability to ask a CDE questions

2012 Dance-a-thon
What a success! Awesome dancing and smiles all over the dance floor.
A BIG Thank You to all the generous individual and in-kind donors for the silent auction, sponsors, volunteers and participants that contributed! Our corporate sponsors included: Paragon Realty, Santarus, Roche, Johnson & Johnson (Animas and Lifescan), Prescription Solutions by OptumRx, Glooko, Abbott, KIND bars, SF Examiner, SF Spine Clinic and Mezes Greek Food.
We raised $7374, which goes to help fund 2013's programs. We also live-streamed the program and had over 500 clicks to watch!
Special thanks to MC Kevin, FreePlay Dance Crew, Rossy Leon, dance contest teams and judges, and all dancers who moved to the jamming grooves of DJ Charis, and of course, the CDE team and our intern, Ugo. Also, much appreciation for Board of Director Dr. Nancy Bohannon with her "Ask an endo" table and Cristina Chanteloup who organized a very popular expressive interactive art exhibit.

PLEASE REGISTER HERE!
Email Theresa at tgarnero@danceoutdiabetes.org or call 1-877-765-4386 to say you plan to attend. This secures your spot and helps us have enough staff & supplies.
Arrive promptly at 1 p.m. for check-in (or 1:15 if you are not doing the health screening). Bring water, a snack if you need it, and comfortable shoes. Our team of certified diabetes educators look forward to seeing you.
