TOP TIP FOR ACCREDITATION

Practices must comply with jurisdictional requirements when storing and controlling Schedule 4 and Schedule 8 medicines

If you store Schedule 8 and/or Schedule 4 drugs in your practice, the drug receptacle must meet the requirements as stated in your relevant state legislation. This includes storing controlled drugs inside a Doctor's bag or if your practice is adjacent to a pharmacy and you use their safe as an alternative to storing them onsite. Please also ensure that your Drug Record Book is kept up-to-date and also securely stored.
