BREAKING NEWS!
Watch Out For Advertising Scams
An online directory company is calling practices advising them that they have had a free listing on their online directory for a past number of years. There's a pretty good chance that you have never heard of the company!
They ask the practice if they can send through a proof of their listing and it would appear that if the practice has a website, they use the logo and information straight from that.
Please be aware that you have not given these people your permission to use this information. The "artwork" they send usually looks unprofessional.
Unsuspecting practice staff sign off on the so called "artwork" thinking it will be a free listing without taking a close look at the terms and conditions. However this is not a FREE listing and you are then billed close to $1000. Your listing will be posted on their unprofessional online directory website which has poor Google visibility.
You will be threatened with legal action if you refuse to pay them after receiving their invoice ... read more

Practice Incentives Program (PIP) eHealth Incentive
Reminder that the PIP eHealth Incentive has changed.
From 1 February general practices needed to meet the four new eHealth criteria to continue receiving the PIP eHealth Incentive payment.
RACGP - Practice Incentives Program eHealth Compliance Checklist
If your practice did not meet the deadline you will still receive the February ePIP payment, however your practice will not receive the May quarter ePIP payment. You can still register now and be eligible for the August ePIP payment.
PIP has advised that practices will be sent an application form in the next couple of months to reapply for the ePIP component. Practices need to declare that they met all requirements as of 1 February. Apparently practices will not need to send in any documentation with this application, however PIP will do random audits on practices to see if they were compliant when they said they were.
Practices need to be compliant for the 5th requirement - Personally Controlled Electronic Health Record (PCEHR) by 1 May 2013.
Do you need help?
Medical Directions can assist you in completing the eHealth documentation. Contact us on 1300 978 897 or 0413 209 486.
