Now that the new version of The Great Gatsby is out, lets enjoy Deco. The style first appeared in France in the 1920's as the name used for an Art exhibition, and was popular through the 40's. In America the best icon is the Chrysler building. It is very geometric and eclectic, which are two of the reasons I like it. A few years ago at Yves St. Laurent's estate auction, a single Art Deco chair sold for 30M.

An ART DECO mirror I discovered at an antique store, I took it to the client,
she fell in love with it and kept it. I also call it Hollywood Glamour Deco

The wall panels are not Deco but Italian Theater panels XIX C. and slide to provide view to the kitchen and fit the Eclectic style.
The client wanted a sexy bedroom, so red and black worked well.
The walls and casings were painted red. Fabrics. Sahco on coverlet and pillows; Manuel Canovas, C & T on chairs.

Buena Vista Deco. A penthouse we did a couple of years ago in Buena Vista Park, San Francisco, includes a Glass floor landing and powder rm.below the staircase, a library, 2 wet-bars, a MB closet and other details you can see
