We want to wish you a Happy New Year! We hope that you accomplish at least one goal you have been wanting to achieve this year! Focus on
ONE GOAL. Put your thoughts into writing it down and then taking actions and make it happen!
Goal writing tips:
1) Pick a goal that is realistic and fits into your current schedule. This can be hard, but there are ways to do minor
tweaks to your schedule.
CHANGE makes things happen!!
2) Your goal needs to be a
SPECIFIC goal... for example: "I will start walking," or "I will go to the gym" or "I will start Pilates classes" or "I will start running."
3) Your goals needs to be
MEASURABLE and OBJECTIVE. for example: "I will walk 30 minutes a day," or "I will go to the gym 4 times per week for 45 minutes and take 2 Pilates classes per week," "I will run a half marathon."
4) Your goal needs to have a
TIME FRAME. So perhaps you break it into a short term and long term goal for the year. "In the next 6 months, I will....." and then, "In month 6-12 I will...."
5) You need to have a
PLAN. Your plan helps you achieve your goals in the specific time frame. Have a SIMPLE plan. For example:
1) Call and check on times of classes
2) Go to a class
3) Commit to a class once a week for 1 month
4) Commit to 2 classes once a week for 2-12 months
OR
1) Get a good pair of walking/running shoes
2) Meet with a Physical Therapist to make sure
my body is ready to start a walking or running program (to prevent injury!!)
3) Walk/Run (start slow and increase your speed and distance when ready to progress).
Here's to a NEW YOU!
