 Happy Holidays Everyone!
For me, one of the best part of the Holidays is the beauty of the season. The shining, glittery, glowing places and sites it creates.  Now combine that with your shopping or your celebrating with family and friends and the joy of this time of years will be reveled.

If you are looking for this feeling I suggest you come downtown. The City, shops, restaurants and taverns have embraced the season and it is truly magical.  You just have to experience it.

Wishing you a holiday to remember.

Maggie

DRI Board elects new members for 2014

Three new and two returning board members were elected to the Downtown Rhinelander Board at its annual meeting on October 30.

Dan Kuzlik, former economic restructuring chair, was elected vice president.  Sandy Buss is returning to the board after a few years' absence as the new promotions chair. Mike Hastreiter, owner of Bucketheads Sports Bar, is a new member, as well as Jim Hext from Hext theater.

Retirements from the board included Joan Belongia, former organization chair, and Michelle Smith Grage, vice president. Other changes included Ray Burgan taking over as chair of the economic restructuring committee.

Downtown Street Parking:

We need your help!

It's holiday shopping season! A time where a lot of downtown businesses make their money. Please remember that the downtown parking spaces are for

customers and shoppers. Time is at a high value and if spaces aren't available the consumer will literally "drive right by."

Remember:

Parking time downtown is limited to two hours only. If you need to park longer than that, there is plenty of room in the surrounding city parking lots. A little more of a walk, maybe, but well worth it, considering it means that shoppers will be encouraged to come to our downtown stores.

What's Up Mark?

The holidays are upon us in full force. Please take some time to enjoy family and friends.  Be safe in your holiday travels and remember to "Buy Local" whenever you get the chance.

In addition to enjoying the holidays, we at DRI will be busy planning for Taste of Chocolate and many more initiatives that you will hear about as we roll in to 2014.
Snow, shovels, & sidewalks

By Joan Belongia

It's here! The snow. With more to come in December, January, February, March, and...

With the snow comes the pileup of the white stuff on sidewalks all over the city.

Downtown sidewalk snow needs to be shoveled off so shoppers can make their way to your shop.

What can YOU do? Simple!

Shovel your sidewalk by 9 am every day. You'll get fresh air, a rosy color in your cheeks, and you'll make the entranceway safe for everyone.

Now, about those snowbanks. It's not easy for our customers to get onto your shoveled sidewalks when the snowbanks are a foot or more high, aka minimountains  Actually, for some shoppers it is impossible to get to your front door if they have to climb over apile of white stuff.

Please take the time to make a safe walkway for our shoppers!
