AYSO PARENTS:

We hope that everyone had fantastic holidays and that your New Year is off to an awesome start!

Hard to believe, we know, but the Spring season will soon be upon us.

We cannot wait to kick off again! Not quite time to try on the cleats, dust off the shin pads, inflate that ball, but close...sooooo close!

And as we get ready, we need your help! First, mark your calendars with the key dates below and then read on as we are looking for volunteers to help with the spring season and beyond!

Key dates:

  • April 14: Games resume (coaches may schedule practices before then and will be in touch)
  • May 1: Online registration will open and stay open until June 30.
  • May-June (exact dates tbd): In person registration sessions for the 2013-14 Season
  • May 26: No games over the Memorial Day weekend
  • June 9: Last game of the season - Hey parents, we listened! One week before D65 lets out!

Volunteer Help:

As you know - because we remind you constantly! - Evanston AYSO is a volunteer run organization. Without dedicated board members, devoted coaches, diligent refs and helpers in many other ways, frankly, we wouldn't be able to function.

Being a part of Evanston AYSO means that you are helping 2000 kids play the beautiful game each weekend, and not only that, but making sure that they play in an environment that is safe, positive, and adheres to the laudable goals of AYSO nationally.

There are a lot of youth soccer organizations out there. AYSO is the best of the lot with the entire focus on the player having a positive experience.

We will have a number of ways in which you can help:

- You can help us in winter as we prepare for the Spring 2013 season;

- You can help us during the season;

- You can stay involved and help as we gear up for the 2013-14 season

We will be holding an information session for prospective volunteers on Saturday, February 9th at 9:00 AM at the Evanston Civic Center:  2100 Ridge Avenue. In the meantime, for more details on what types of positions we are looking for, please check out our website:

http://www.evanstonsoccer.org/PageCustom.aspx?id=21&o=663951

During our information session, we will present the open positions, discuss areas where we need some help and answer

your questions about duties, time commitments, etc.

Please come out in force! We're counting on you!
