Evanston AYSO

Note from the Commish

August 2012
Newsletter
Hello and welcome to the 2012-2013 season with Evanston AYSO.

First,

thank you for registering your child. We are looking forward to
another fantastic year supporting 2000 kids and their love of the
beautiful game!

Secondly, you are receiving this email because you expressed an

interest in volunteering for AYSO. As you know, our organization
depends on the support of hundreds of volunteers in many different capacities.

Right now, we have many exciting volunteer opportunities and really need your help!

Shoe Exchange - September 9 from 11Am to 2PM:
Each season we hold a shoe exchange at the James Park Equipment Shed. Players can trade out their old cleats for larger sized shoes. We need a few volunteers to help set up (starting at 10:30), to staff the event and help pack up at the end of the day.

Coach Bag Preparation - September 1 from 9:00 AM - 12:00 (hopefully):

Each year, we had out bags to the coaches, containing everything that they need to have a successful season. Those bags get packed by people - with balls, pumps, first aid kits, uniforms etc. We need about 10 people to help with packing, again at the James Park Equipment Shed (coffee, doughnuts and Gatorade will be provided - hey, who doesn't like free food?).

Coach Kick Off Meeting - September 6 starting at 6PM (location TBD, but one of the public schools in Evanston):

Just before the start of the season, we hold a kick off meeting for the coaches. This is an orientation session and the opportunity for the coaches to pick up their bags. We need some help getting the bags from a UHaul into the school, and staging a welcome area to hand coach shirts, booklets, etc. The meeting officially starts at 7, and we need volunteers present starting at 6 to help set up.

Equipment Duties on Sundays (ongoing throughout the season):

We need a couple of people to staff the James Park equipment shed on Sundays to hand out goals/flags and receive them when returned. It's simple job but OH so necessary. We are also in the need of an Equipment Coordinator to serve on the board. If you ever wanted to serve on the board of  NFP, you now have that once in a lifetime opportunity.

Please email the John Herzig directly on jfherzig11@gmail.com if you can help with any of the above! We are counting on your support and we thank you in advance for your help!
