U08 Parents: Call For Coaches!!!

August 2012
Newsletter

Hey U08 Parents - WE NEED YOU!

We are sending this message urgently to the parents of U8 boys who hope to play AYSO soccer this season.  At this time, we only have enough coaches to support 2/3 of the teams, so we need your help!

We need over 26 more coaches (head and assistant) in order to cover the planned 42 teams of U8 boys. AYSO is an all-volunteer organization, and we need over 25% of all parents to participate in any given year, so please help if you can.

We understand that some of you may have reservations about coaching given limited soccer experience, but, while prior soccer experience is a plus, it is not at all required.  We will train you and give you all the tools and skills you need to coach at this young age level.  We have a coach training session on Saturday, 8/18 at James Park (meet at the Levy Center) from 2 pm to 4:30 pm.

Furthermore, and while we don't advertise this usually, we would encourage you to pair up with a friend and volunteer to play both head and assistant coach roles on a team.  Should you be able to do this, both coaches and their children will be paired for the season which we realize can be helpful logistically.

If you are interested (or even just willing) to sign up to coach in this division, please send me a quick email  jfherzig11@gmail.com to let me know, and also let me know if you can make the training on Saturday, 8/18.  In addition, please follow the instructions below to officially apply as a volunteer.

Also, please contact David Berstein - bernsteindavid@gmail.com

should you have any further questions.

Many thanks in advance for your participation.
