Psalm 105:4-5

Rev. Harbison
The psalmist gives us a good lesson here. He proclaims, "Seek the Lord", and that is what we should be doing each and every day. A good question is how can we do it? We can seek Him with Bible study, in service, in worship . . . we can do it in countless ways.

I think a good way to seek the Lord is referenced in verse 5. We can seek God by remembering what he has done for us. We can seek God by looking back in our own lives and see ways we have been touched by his holy hand. We can seek God by remembering the miracles both great and small that have come to us by God's blessing.

All these things I've mentioned are important ways that we should seek God.  Let us always remember to look back and seek where God has worked in our lives and give thanksgivings for all the blessings he has bestowed.

Love,

Save the Date!

Join us on Reformation Sunday, October 23, for our Service of Stained Glass, an inspiring all-music service by our Chancel Choir, Ensemble, and St. Luke's Ringers. During the worship hour, our musicians will interpret the meanings of our beautiful windows through scripture and song, as we see our windows in a new way.

Last year Christian Community Service Center's Back to School program helped prepare over 6,500 students for school. Over 650 volunteers and support from donors made it happen. If you would like to help give children a good start for the coming school year, here are some ways you can help:

1. Volunteer for Sort & Set Up July 30 7:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m.
2. Volunteer for Distribution August 5 & 6, 7:30 a.m.-1 p.m.

Volunteer Location: Faith Lutheran Church, 4600 Bellaire Blvd.
No need to sign up.....just show up whenever you can help and for however long you can stay.  All volunteers are appreciated!  Volunteering at CCSC qualifies for student volunteer hours. F
or more information, call 713.961.3993 ext. 215 at CCSC.

Another way to support BTS is to make a donation of $45 to support a child. Your gift will provide a voucher for school uniform and shoes and grade appropriate school supplies. Go to www.ccschouston.org to make your donation

Merry Christmas!

A Closing Prayer

Author of hope and renewal, though our bodies grow weak and our spirits faint within us, your word is not chained, but leads us ever forward. Teach us to bloom where we are planted and to pray for the welfare of all, that our hope may be kindled and our faith may be strengthened. In gratitude and deep joy, we pray. Amen.
