Rev. Harbison
As you read this, I am in one of my happy places. We all have happy places. Places where God seems a little closer, family seems a little nicer, the sun seems just a little brighter.  I really appreciate the opportunities you give me to go to my places.  I hope you will find time this summer to visit one of yours.

Let's remember that even Christ would take time to be alone and meditate and pray. That's what happy places are for. They are places where we can take a moment to reflect and see the blessings God so generously bestows upon us. Take time to go to a happy place soon and make sure while you are there to give thanksgiving to God for blessing you with that place and all the other things God gives you in your life.

Love,
Scott signature

A Welcome Concert at Brazos Towers

Brazos Towers at Bayou Manor

Members of St. Luke's Ensemble performed a musical program on Sunday, June 5, at the new Brazos Towers at Bayou Manor. The concert was given as a gift to the new residents as a way of welcoming them to our neighborhood. Ensemble members participating were Janet and Randall Bardin, Ann Guercio, Dick Lawson, Ryan Klasen, and Laura Witt Smith. They were accompanied by Quan Jiang on violin, Laura Smith on harp and Marvin Gaspard on piano.

The residents enjoyed a very diverse program of classical, secular, and sacred music.  We are proud of our wonderful musicians who served as St. Luke's Ambassadors to our new neighbors.

A Closing Prayer
Winds may buffet us, and storms may threaten...
 but God's love endures.
Earthquakes may shake us, and the ground beneath us may rumble...
but Christ is our sure foundation.
Sorrows may tear our hearts, and fears may send us running...
but the Spirit runs with us and strengthens us for the journey.
May faith be a friend that casts out fear, freeing us to love and to live with joy!
