Rev. Harbison
Our Psalm for this week is Psalm 150. It is a praise psalm that is pretty repetitive. Each line has a reference to praising God. In fact, in six verses, the word praise is used thirteen times. I think it's inclusion in the lectionary this Sunday is intentional.

Easter is past. That happy resurrection feeling is gone. The church is getting back to normal and we are reminded by the Psalmist that things are not normal. We have a God who is worthy of praise. That praise comes from the realization that God has conquered death and we have the promise of life and life abundant. We praise God because of the gift of Christ and the meaning of Easter for all of us.

So I hope that you're not done praising God. We are a people who live post-resurrection. We've never known anything but the lift abundant that Christ gives us. Let's not take this life for granted and let's be ambassadors for the one that grants us this life, Jesus Christ our Lord. And let us praise God with all that we have.

Love,

Easter Egg Hunt - A Recap

Our Easter Egg hunt last Saturday was awesome with over 200 adults and children attending. The youth added some much needed help hiding more than 2,000 eggs over the church grounds. Thanks to everyone who stuffed eggs, purchased prizes, and showed up on Saturday to make this annual event such a special day. Check out the photos and see for yourself!

A Closing Prayer
We praise you, O God, for the compassionate love we have seen in our Lord: That love that will not give up on us even when we do nothing except boast about our loyalty and then run away when the going gets rough; that love that forgives us and calls us to new life in your presence.Thank you, God. In Christ's name we pray Amen.
