As I was trying to get back into the swing of things this week, I was greeted with an unexpected surprise. Our very own Marvin Gaspard was featured in the Village News and the Southwest News. In the interview he talks a lot about his ministry at St. Luke's and the journey that brought him here. I highly recommend that you take a moment and read this great interview on page 4. Thank you Marvin for all that you do.
Don't forget that Easter is coming up with all the activities that means. Please make note of requests to help us with our Easter Egg Hunt and pay special attention to our worshp times.
Love,

Poems, Prayers & Meditations for Holy Week from Austin Presbyterian Seminary
In the pages of this booklet are creative, insightful meditations on each day of Holy Week written by students in Austin Seminary's Doctor of Ministry program. Framing the meditations are poems that explore Palm Sunday and Easter with poetic eyes; and are accompanied by comments from The Reverend Dr. Paul Hooker, Associate Dean of Ministerial Formation and Advanced Studies. You can read the meditations together or serially each day and consider what it means to seek God where God may be found, here in the heart of the gospel. You can pick up a copy of Poems, Prayers & Meditations for Holy Week on Sunday morning.

Palm Sunday - March 20 @ 10:00 a.m.

This coming Sunday we will commemorate Christ's triumphant entry into Jerusalem. The children of St. Luke's and our Chancel Choir will lead us in a joyful processional of palms as we mark the significance of this holy day. Please join us for this meaningful worship experience.

Marvin makes the news!
Several weeks after Marvin celebrated his 20th anniversary with St. Luke's, Ben Ballanfant, a writer for Responsive Papers, contacted him about the possibility of writing an article about his career and his work at St. Luke's. It seems Ben read the coverage about Marvin's anniversary in our Wednesday Word and wanted to share the story with the community. Marvin graciously said yes and this week an article was published in the Village News and the Southwest News titled: "Gaspard Ministers with Religious Music for Our Time". Here's a link to read more (see page 4). These community newspapers are available free of charge at restaurants and businesses in the Village, Bellaire, and Braeswood/Meyerland neighborhoods.

Good Friday Service - March 25 @ 7:00 p.m.
Please join us on Good Friday at 7:00 p.m. for a Service of Darkness. This meaningful worship experience will begin with Holy Communion, commemorating Christ's last supper, and end with the Service of Darkness, Christ's final hours on the cross. Our choir will be joined by guest violinist, Quan Jiang, as they present selections recounting the seven last words of Christ.

Easter Egg Hunt - March 26 @ 11:00 a.m.
Add St. Luke's Easter Egg Hunt to your calendar and make it a date to celebrate Spring with us again this year. Children ages 10 or under are welcome to hunt, with special areas designated for younger children. The Easter Bunny will visit again this year, so bring your camera for some great photo ops.
If you would like to support our Easter Egg Hunt this year, you can help by bringing some stuffed plastic eggs to the church by 9:00 a.m. on 3/26. Please no chocolate and make sure candy is individually wrapped. Stickers or small toys would be a good choice too.

A Closing Prayer
Merciful God, as we prepare to enter Holy Week, turn our hearts again to Jerusalem, to the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, that united with Christ and all the faithful we may one day enter in triumph the city not made by human hands, the new Jerusalem, eternal in the heavens, where with you and the Holy Spirit, Christ lives in glory forever. Amen. from The Book of Common Worship
