Special Musical Guest this Sunday!
 
We are bringing organist and composer, Alfred V. Fedak, to help us celebrate Marvin's 20th anniversary.  He will lead and conduct the musical portions of the service from the organ. 
 
Alfred Fedak,  our special guest January 31
Mr. Fedak is Minister of Music and Arts at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Albany NY. He is a fellow of the American Guild of Organists, and was director of their professional certification committee for many years. Mr. Fedak has served on several committees of the Reformed Church in America and the PCUSA concerning congregational music. He was recently called "one of the country's leading church musicians" by The American Organist.
 


CCSC - A Recap for 2015

In 2015 CCSC had the blessing of serving over 22,700 people in the area of basic needs, employment, and youth services. Of course none of this would have been possible without the hard work of 2,384 dedicated volunteers who contributed over 42,500 hours. Here are a few statistics about the good that was done in 2015:

29,312  Clients were supplied with nutritious food
     927  Households received utility or rent assistance
     173  Persons received medical assistance
  6,688  Person were provided gently-used clothing
     398  Job seekers benefitted from classes, job leads 
  6,642  Students started the academic year with supplies & attire
  2,537  Children received Christmas toys, books, & food

HYMN SING February 28, 6:00 p.m.

Four grand pianos with outstanding pianists, Marvin Gaspard, Jeff Bennett, Eric Belvin, and Gerald Ray will provide an evening of favorite hymns and Christian music.  Other featured artists are John Bolin, Scott Cameron, Cynthia Clawson, Ragan Courtney, Lisa Pierre and Cindy Robinson.  HYMN SING will take place at First Methodist Church - Westchase Campus, Westpark Drive at West Sam Houston Tollway.

Almighty God, you pour out the spirit of grace and supplication on all who desire it.  Deliver us from cold hearts and wandering thoughts that with steady minds and burning zeal we may worship you in spirit and truth, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
