Rev. Harbison
There was a commercial played during Christmas with Tony Bennett and Lady GaGa singing a classic song. The song, "Baby it's
Cold Outside", is really well done and I love to see new artists and old collaborate so wonderfully.

It also reminds us that it is cold outside, even in Houston. This weekend's lows will be 28 degrees. And winter is not over yet.  This is why out coat drive is so important.  Like many southern cities Houston's homeless population swells during the winter months and people are literally in need of basic life supporting warmth.

Please search your closets, your garages, and your dens to find as many coats as you can and come drop them off at the church. We need to show God's love to all people and a great way to do that is through this important ministry. Thanks for supporting it. Drop off donations on Sunday mornings or during the week.  If the office is closed, please leave your coats in a bag at the door.

Love,

Marvin's 20th Anniversary Celebration January 31.

Alfred Fedak
Our special guest January 31
In order for Marvin to further enjoy his 20th anniversary celebration we are bringing a special guest organist & composer to play the organ for the occasion, Afred V. Fedak, minister of music and arts at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Albany NY. He is a fellow of the American Guild of Organists, and was director of their professional certification committee for many years. Mr. Fedak has served on several committees of the Reformed Church in America and the PCUSA concerning congregational music. He was recently called "one of the country's leading church musicians" by The American Organist.

Mr. Fedak also composed one of Marvin's favorite anthems which the choir will be singing on this special occasion.  It is a great honor to have such a great musician as Alfred Fedak help us celebrate Marvin's 20 years at St..Luke's and we all look forward to hearing him and of course Marvin, who will be playing the Postlude on the 31st.

Our Dinner Club normally meets on Mondays every 2 months or so and we enjoy trying out new restaurants and visiting some old favorites.  Hunan's is a favorite of many of our members for Sunday lunch, so let's get together for a good meal and a time to celebrate with Martin and Nohemi.

Father, with steadfastness and patience help us to serve you and to trust you, to know that the road under us is solid, that your companionship at our side is for real and that we need fear no evil. Help us to keep our balance and to approach each day with expectancy. Amen.
