Live Nativity Tonight!

NativityWe like to think of this special evening as St. Luke's gift to the community. Won't you join us as we take a break from the hustle and bustle of the season and return to the manger again this year?

Some big news to share!  Cynthia Clawson will sing. for us tonight! Cynthia is a Grammy and Dove Award winning vocalist. She will sing  "What Child is This?"

Re-enactments will take place at 6 & 7 p.m. We'll have some refreshments ready for you when you arrive.

Advent devotional booklets are available in the Narthex. The readings will enrich the Advent season and draw us closer to one another and to Christ as we reflect on God's faithfulness and God's promise. You can pick up a copy tonight!

Our session has called for a Congregational Meeting on Sunday, December 13, to elect church officers for the coming year. Please plan to attend this important meeting immediately after 10:00 a.m. worship.

Christmas Joy Offering

Through the Christmas Joy Offering, your generosity provides assistance for those who have dedicated their lives to the service of the church, as well as racial ethnic education and leadership development at Presbyterian-related schools and colleges. St. Luke's traditionally takes the Joy Offering on Christmas Eve. Watch for bulletin inserts which will tell you more about this 70 year Presbyterian tradition of sharing our gifts with those who need our support.

A Closing Prayer

Be patient!
The time is coming when we will celebrate the birth of Christ,
when we will sing and rejoice, dancing with everlasting joy.
But for now,
let us wait in this season of Advent,
when God speaks in dreams and visions,

when we are invited to dance into the kingdom.
For this is Advent,

when all the world rejoices in its creator,
when those who limp learn new dance steps,
when the speechless burst forth with joy to the world!                           from Cradled in God's Heart
