Psalm 123
I want to focus on the first verse of this psalm: "To you I lift up my eyes, oh you, who are enthroned in the heavens". This powerful psalm is a plea for God's mercy, Gods help. The first verse tells us where to look for this help, to the one enthroned in heaven.
Who is this one enthroned in heaven? It is Jesus Christ. And, we know that Jesus truly lived and died for us and took upon himself our grief and shame so that we may know life abundant. So, don't ever feel like any problem cannot be handled by the one who bore so much, Jesus, who loved us so much as to die on the cross, is enthroned in heaven ever ready to lift the burdens which life lays upon our shoulders.
. Have a blessed week,

Today is Veterans Day!
Veterans Day continues to be observed on November 11, regardless of what day of the week on which it falls. The holiday began as a day to remember the end of World War I when Germany signed an armistice with the Allies at 11 a.m. on November 11, 1918. The observance of Veterans Day today preserves the historical significance of the date and helps focus attention on the important purpose of Veterans Day: A celebration to honor America's veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good.

Volunteer at Jingle Bell Express
Jingle Bell Express began as one of the first outreach programs of Christian Community Service Center. In 1980, volunteers got together to act as "Santa's Helpers," making dreams of Christmas a reality for 40 needy families. Due to the resounding support of many wonderful Houstonians, this program has blossomed. In December 2014, holiday joy reached 835 families and their 2,635 children through Jingle Bell Express. Volunteer to help this incredible effort and make Christmas brighter this year for these families and you! Add these dates to your calendar and just show up, you don't need to register! All events are held at Bellaire United Methodist Church, 4417 Bellaire Blvd. For more information call CCSC, 713.961.3993. A Closing Prayer
Though we have experienced your grace in many ways, we are still in awe, O God, at the depth of your compassion and the breadth of your love. Where we give up so easily, as our love falters and fails, your love never fails, for it comes to us through our Lord, who was faithful even to the death on the cross so that we might have life abundant and eternal, life full and rich and free. It is in his blessed name that we pray. Amen.
