Confirmation on Easter Sunday

On Easter Sunday we were blessed to witness the confirmation of six young people as they became full active members of St. Luke's Presbyterian Church.

After being examined by the Session and being received  as active members, they were presented to the congregation during worship. Rev. Harbison then asked them to reaffirm their vows taken at Baptism by professing their faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, renouncing evil and affirming their reliance on God's grace, and declaring their intention to participate actively and responsibly in the worship and mission of the church.

Our confirmands were then commissioned for full participation in the mission and governance of the church and welcomed by the congregation.  These newest members of St. Luke's are: Cassie Harbison, Lilly Hurysz, Catherine, Dorothea, & Ellis Jacoby, Julia Miller, and Jackie Quinones.

A Closing Prayer

Thanks be to you, Lord Jesus Christ,
for all you have done for us,
open up for us the work we should do and
the path we should follow so that
we might rise up and be your disciples.
Grant to us
  the optimism of Easter,
  the patience of Jesus Christ,
the sense of triumph that goes
with what we believe so that
we might grasp this for our own lives,
for our nation, and for the world. Amen.
