 | Rev. Harbison |
This is a brief reminder that we have started the year running. This Sunday we will ordain and install officers. Make sure to come and see Steve Hurysz and Eddie Crowell ordained as elders in the church as Linda Wiley and Patti Ernst are installed into their office. While you're here, make sure to thank Alan Lucas, LeAnn Lucas and Debbie Jones for their service to our congregation over the past years. On January 18 we will have our annual meeting when we will revisit 2014 briefly and look forward to 2015. I look forward to seeing you all at both services. I must note that 2014 was significant in dealing with our financial situation and 2015 promises to be the year that we will truly round the corner that's been talked about since before I've been pastor here.
We have lots of exciting things planned for 2015 which will be unveiled in the coming months. I want you to go ahead and save February 17 for our annual Jazz in the Parking/Cat Fish Fry. This is truly one of my favorite events, as you know how much I love catfish. We look forward to seeing you at this event and all of the coming events in 2015.
Take care and God bless,

Elder Ordination at St. Luke's
|
During worship on January 11, church officers will be installed for the coming year. Steve Hurysz will complete Debbie Jones' term for the Class of 2016 and Eddie Crowell, Patti Ernst, and Linda Wiley will comprise the Class of 2017. As part of this meaningful service, our newest elders, Steve and Eddie, will be ordained. See the photo above as elders gather for "the laying on of hands" during ordination.
Our thanks to the Class of 2014 who completed their three years of service: Alan Lucas, LeAnn Lucas, and Linda Wiley. Linda has agreed to serve another term!
Make plans to attend this important service. We look forward to seeing you there!

A Closing Prayer
Your voice whispers over the waters of life, echoing in our hearts. Your voice shatters the chain of sin, so we may skip into the kingdom. Your voice shakes the wilderness we travel through, blessing us with your peace. And we cry, "Glory!" God of Love. You would not let your love be broken and so we are made whole, you rescue us from death's row, and we will live with you. You will bring justice to all who are needy and poor, so we wait for you. and we cry, "Glory!' Beloved God. As we touch the waters of baptism, touch us with your cleansing grace; as we are healed by your peace, may we bind up the brokenhearted; as we are liberated by your love may we work to free all captives. and we cry, "Glory!' Spirit of love. We cry, "Glory!' Amen. from Cradled in God's Heart
