My Wish to all members of GFWC/CT this season is: that it is filled with Joy, where there has been pain, Hope when there has been despair, Happiness when there has been sadness, Good Health when you have been sick, Good Fortune when you need it, but most of all, Love and Friendship when you have been lonely. These are the many things that are important to us all and I hope my wish will come true for all of you.

East Hartford Women's Club East Hartford flags Dozens of small American flags donated by the club were planted in front of the SBM building at Manchester Community College in honor of military veterans.  Shown in front of the flags are club members Leslie Apostalon, Peg Spiller, Beverly Leone and Mary Malecky.

Hamden Woman's Club Fashion Show Nov.3, 2012
The 20th Annual Fashion Show and Luncheon "Wish Upon a Star" was held on November 3rd to benefit the Hamden Senior Wish Society. The ladies worked very hard to make the event was a huge success as always.
Madison Woman's Club "Stuffs an Ambulance" 
Madison Stuff an Ambulance Nov, 2012 Madison Ambulance Association, North Madison Volunteer Fire Company, Madison Hose Company No. 1, the Women's Club of Madison and the town organized a drive to help Broad Channel, a community in Queens, NY that was devastated by Superstorm Sandy.
GFWC Windsor Woman's Club
The November meeting began with a presentation by members of the Transportation Security Administration from Bradley International Airport. The club members asked a lot of thought-provoking and current topic questions, and kept the men on their toes.

Scholarship
Now accepting applications for both the Phipps Memorial Scholarship and the Dorothy E. Schoelzel Scholarship. These funds are available to enable Conn. women to pursue advanced courses in accredited institutions.
ABRI/HOMES FOR THE BRAVE
Make a Difference Day,
October 27, 2012

What a difference these ladies made!  



Six excited ladies departed Danbury with a van full
of donations from General Federation of Women's Clubs/CT (GFWC/CT) members, bound for
ABRI/Homes for the Brave in Bridgeport.

A total of $17,100.00 in goods and cash was donated.

Wreaths Across America 
9 wreaths were donated on behalf of GFWC/CT. Some to the Rocky Hill Veterans Cemetery and to Arlington Cemetery in Washington D.C. 
 
The goal this year is to cover every grave  
in Arlington with a wreath.

GFWC Windsor Women's Club 
donates a tree to Wadsworth "Festival" 
 Decorated tree for Festival of Trees 2012
7 members of the GFWC Windsor Woman's Club
recently put the finishing touches on the club's
annual contribution to the Wadsworth
Atheneum's yearly Festival of Trees.

This year's theme is "Traditions" and the club's
donation is a tree decorated with Iris Folding
Paper ornaments. Several members created
the ornaments prior to the actual decorating session.
