Any and all contributions will be greatly appreciated.

Please  make sure you bring your unwrapped items to the October 13, 2012, GFWC/CT Fall Conference meeting.

As a bonus, our committee will deliver the gifts on Saturday, Oct. 27, "Make A Difference" Day. This is a national effort sponsored by USA Today. In this way our project will be eligible to compete for a $10,000 grant.

shirts for sale!
GFWC/CT White Pima Cotton Polo Shirts will be sold at the Fall Conference on October 13th at the Public Relations Table.  

 

Price per shirt is $25.00 for small, medium, large, and x-large shirts and $27.00 for all plus sizes. Public Relations will take pre-paid orders if we do not have your size.  

 

You can either pick up the shirts at the January meeting or for an extra $3.00 for shipping cost, we will send it to you. We will accept cash, check or credit card.

Join the GFWC tagline contest!

GFWC is holding a Tagline Contest to update their slogan "GFWC - It's a Volunteer Thing!".  All members have the opportunity to assist the GFWC in formulating a brand-new tagline through this contest. 

The GFWC invites you  to submit your ideas and vote on your favorites. All submissions will be entered in a drawing for a valuable prize.

The deadline for this contest is November 10, 2012. For more details, visit www.gfwc.org and submit your ideas today!

Farmingbury Woman's Club of Wolcott
invites all to attend a ceremony commemorating "Breast Cancer Awareness Month", October 1, at 11 a.m. on the Wolcott Green.

This ceremony is open to all who who would like to attend. We encourage anyone who has been affected by the terrible disease of cancer, cancer survivors, family and friends, to take part by placing a ceremonial ribbon in honor of their own struggle or that of loved ones on our white tree with pink lights.

The tree will be lighted in the gazebo during the month of October.

The GFWC Windsor Woman's Club, a member of the General Federation of Woman's Clubs' (GFWC), recently began its club year with a Mums Sale.

Thanks to the phenomenal mums, beautiful weather, fabulous volunteers and eager buyers, the club raised more than $1,000 to start filling the kitty for this club year's various community outreaches.

Thanks to all who once again made this annual event successful.

2012 Hunger Action Hero Award

Jancy, JoAnn and Patty for Hunger Action Award On September 9, 2012, the Connecticut Food  Bank presented their annual Hunger Action Hero Awards to fourteen businesses, organizations, and individuals that were outstanding in their support of the Connecticut Food Bank's mission to alleviate hunger in Connecticut.  The General Federation of Women's Clubs of Connecticut was chosen for the Civic Hero award for their outstanding contributions and collaboration as part of a two-year State Project.    read more...

East Hartford Woman's Club
14th Annual Scholarship Luncheon, Auction and Fashion Show on November 3rd, 2012, from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Marco Polo Ristorante, 1250 Burnside Avenue, in East Hartford, CT. 

Club members and their granddaughters will model clothing from Chico's.
Guest commentator will be WFSB personality, Hena Daniels.  There will also be a Large raffle and numerous baskets created and donated by members, friends,neighbors, and town merchants.  

Monies raised will fund scholarships for local high school seniors and also a student from Goodwin College.  

Tickets are $38.00 and include appetizers, a choice of Pot Roast, Chicken Française, Baked Scrod, or Vegetarian Pasta, dessert, coffee/tea.

GFWC Windsor Locks
October 5 and November 2 will be our monthly Jewell Scrap at the Hyatt House, 200 Corporate Dr., Windsor- 6:30-11:00pm. $10 for a space for you to craft. All proceeds to these scrapbook/crafting events will go towards the South St. School 5th grade class trip to Camp Jewell in the spring.
