BASIS International Ltd. releases version 15.0 of Visual PRO/5®, PRO/5®, and PRO/5 Data Server®. With this release and BBj 15.1, all PRO/5 users can take advantage of most of the non-SQL related BBj database features our customers around the world have come to love without the performance penalty associated with the TCP/IP communication layer when PRO/5 and BBj are on the same machine.

Additionally, Visual PRO/5 15.0 is the first version of the popular interpreter to be fully tested and supported under Microsoft's latest operating system, Windows 10.

Once the PRO/5 interpreters start using file access via BBj's PRO/5 DS, they can get significantly better performance and start utilizing several BBj database-specific features in and alongside their current applications, including:
* The PRO/5 interpreter can read and write VKEYED files, but they must first be created in BBj via the VKEYED verb or converted from a previous file type.  Additionally, they cannot take advantage of some of the new syntax-based features of the VKEYED file type, such as referencing a key by name instead of KNUM.

Refer to the readme, relnotes, and fixes files for PRO/5 and Visual PRO/5 for additional details. Check out the Platform Availability listing and download version 15.0 today!
