Greetings!
Warm wishes for a happy holiday from all of us at Nubanusit! We are busy with holiday dances, concerts, gingerbread house making and skating on our pond and we wanted to update you on some recent happenings:
 | | Migrating the Chickens |
- we moved the chickens to their winter coop after they bug-picked the garden (their fall chore),
- our contractors installed solar panels (story below),
- we harvested lettuce and other greens from our
 | | December Harvest | farm hoop house, - children and adults played at game night,
- we hosted "Slow Food" at dinner,
- children checked in with each other as they dashed between the houses - "have you signed up for gingerbread house making?", "want to go skating?", "want to see some fox tracks?"
If you would like to join the fun and be part of our sustainable community please come visit. In December, we are welcoming visitors by appointment, even on short notice. Sunday Open Houses will resume in January. If you are seriously considering a move to cohousing or know someone who might be, please include us in your travel plans. Schedule a visit by emailing us or calling Richard at 603-924-7491.

 | Latest news on our solar-electric project |
Taking advantage of renewable energy incentives, neighbors joined together to put this project on a fast track. Seventeen neighbors banded together to install 169 solar panels a group price. The panels will generate 50-100% of the electricity for our homes. Nancy, who expects to generate 100% of her electricity needs in a two-bedroom home, said on Monday, "We are celebrating our first day of generating electricity from the sun's beneficent rays. What a grand way to lighten our footprints on the planet." We are proud that NH Public Radio covered this event. |
