PGE announces new power plants, transmission capacity proposal Actions are key to the company's long-term plan to meet customer needs
Portland General Electric Company (PGE) made an important announcement in support of key investments in Oregon's
energy future. They have finalized plans to support their customers' growing energy needs with the addition of two new generating resources - a natural gas plant near Boardman and a new wind farm near Dayton, Washington. They also signed a memorandum of understanding with Bonneville Power Administration to seek innovative mutual transmission capacity solutions resulting in the company's decision to suspend permitting and development of the proposed Cascade Crossing transmission project. Along with the Port Westward Unit 2 plant that broke ground earlier this month, these projects fulfill the commitments of our 2009 Integrated Resource Plan and their long-term plan to meet their customers' needs.

Downtown Milwaukie construction update
With the construction of the Portland-Milwaukie Light Rail project, and the utility and streets work the City of Milwaukie is conducting in order to capitalize on light rail's public improvements and to consolidate impacts over the long-term, much of Downtown is under construction, but still open for business. The impacts are significant, but TriMet staff and City of Milwaukie staff are regularly updating information regarding the status of each project to help people navigate, and understand, the construction.
