President's Message

Leadership graduates
TEAM North Clackamas is quickly approaching another Annual Installation & Awards Banquet (if you haven't registered, do so NOW). In addition to honoring the outgoing and incoming Board members and those who have won Business of the Year, Business Person of the Year, the Lifetime Achievement Award, and Volunteer of the Year, the Chamber's premier event also provides us an opportunity to recognize those who have graduated from Leadership Clackamas County.
As a member of the class, I can tell you it was a tremendous experience. We learned a lot about Clackamas County's institutions, about leadership, and about one another. We spruced things up outside the Wichita Center, too. As a Chamber, we continued our commitment to ensuring there will be skilled leaders ready to take their place in business, not-for-profits, and government here in Clackamas County. Join us on Thursday, June 27 to congratulate the individuals who completed the 9-month course and the companies who invested in them. Click here to view the 2013 class.
Training tomorrow's leaders is another example of how Together Everyone Achieves More (go TEAM North Clackamas).

Hosting opportunities
Every business needs people to walk-in their doors so they can talk about what they do and gain interest from prospective buyers. Walk in traffic also provides an opportunity to educate people about what you do so they can refer you. Hosting a Chamber event is an excellent way to do just that! Host an upcoming AM Business Connection or Business After Hours and bring the people to you!
Don't have a large enough location - we have members that will let you borrow theirs! Here are the available dates that we have - email or call Laura at 503.654.7777 to book a date.
AM Business Connection: June 28th, July 5th, August 2nd, 23rd or 30th
Business Connection Exchange and Showcase Events: July 19th or 26th
Business After Hours: July or August - you choose!

Take TriMet to Rose Festival fun but don't forget fares are required
Avoid the parking hassles in downtown Portland and take TriMet to the 2013 Portland Rose Festival and to its upcoming parades. But if you take MAX to the festivities don't forget fares are required. This is the first Rose Festival since the Free Rail Zone was eliminated so we will likely see some riders who haven't ridden the MAX since the change last September.
