Oregonians Credit Union Women in Leadership will hold their first meeting
  
Join us for the first Women in Leadership brown bag lunch on Friday, February 22, from 11:30am - 1:00pm at Oregonians Credit Union, 6915 SE Lake Road, Milwaukie.  A panel of 3 woman leaders will be interviewed about career choices. The Career Choices panel will include a leader from a non-profit (Janelle Meredith with Oregon Impact), a proprietor ( Shawnda Horn with  Double J Construction, Inc.), and an executive from a large corporation (Kristin Yates with  Comcast Communications). The topic for the Tuesday, March 26,  Grow Your Business workshop is "Lessons Learned from the Top."  

If you had 30 minutes and only one shot to share your very best and/or toughest lessons in business and life with 10-20 other business owners or business students, what would you tell them? Participants will learn the five most common "Best Life Lessons" of 30 Successful CEO's, be introduced to a robust template for developing their own "Best Life Lessons", and will create a first draft personal "Best Life Lessons" Document.

Former Chamber President/CEO received lifetime achievement recognition 

  

Wilda Parks Wilda Parks, former President/CEO of the North Clackamas County Chamber received lifetime achievement recognition from the Western Association of Chamber Executives at their annual conference in San Francisco last week. Dave Kilby, President/CEO of WACE and Ken Moore, Edmonds, OK Chamber President and Chair of WACE, presented her with a plaque that noted her "outstanding leadership and unselfish service to the profession in her twenty-nine year history as a chamber professional". Her recognition also includes lifetime membership in the Association.

  

Parks served fourteen years with the local chamber, and also served two chambers in California before moving to Oregon. Currently she serves as the county citizen representative to Metro's Policy Advisory Committee, on the board of Clackamas County Business Alliance, the Governor's Grow Oregon Council, state SBDC Advisory Board, Milwaukie Planning Commission, chamber Public Policy Team and several other local public policy and economic development organizations and advisory groups.

Wings of Freedom Local authors to appear for book signing 

Local historical authors including P-51 Mustang Ace Dr. Clayton Kelly Groce will be on hand February 23rd at the Wings of Freedom Museum for an Open House from 10:00am - 2:00pm. You are invited to meet and greet authors, visit the museum's extensive Aviation Research Library, explore the PX or enjoy the expanding exhibit "The Power of the B-17". Light refreshments will be served. Admission is free, but donations to the non-profit "Wings of Freedom Project" will be gratefully accepted. Clackamas County Clackamas County to fill two open seats on planning commission; applications due March 25  

  

Clackamas County is looking for people interested in serving on the county planning commission. Two vacancies need to be filled in the spring. The nine-member commission made up of volunteer citizens reviews and advises the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) on quasi-judicial and legislative land use issues. Planning commission members are appointed to four-year terms by the BCC. They are chosen on the basis of their expertise, experience and/or education related to land use issues and to represent different geographic locations around the county.

TriMet The State of TriMet - Agency lays out FY14 budget outlook   

  

TriMet General Manager Neil McFarlane laid out a preview of the Fiscal Year 14 budget in his State of TriMet presentation to the Board of Directors. The preview provides the framework for the upcoming budget that will be released in mid-March. McFarlane said the contract with the union needs reform to fund service, or riders face a future of continual service cuts.
