Elected Officials Reception draws crowd to Camp Withycombe

On Tuesday, January 22, Camp Withycombe hosted and sponsored the Chamber's Elected Officials Reception. Over 180 people registered for the event, including 53 elected officials. The evening was a success thanks to additional support from Oregon Iron Works - our event sponsor, the Bomber - our food sponsor and caterer, Barclay Events - our provider of linens and coat racks, and our Vision Sponsors - who support the Chamber's public policy efforts throughout the year.

The bulk of the evening consisted of enjoying good food, visiting with government and business leaders, and playing elected officials bingo, with brief welcoming remarks and thank yous being offered by Oregon Ironworks, Camp Withycombe, and Chamber President & CEO David Kelly. The event was co-hosted by the Oregon City Chamber and the Wilsonville Chamber.

Super Bowl Marketing

Like most Americans, I will be watching the Super Bowl on Sunday. I tune in for the football, while my wife tunes in for the commercials. Marketing is key for any business, but can you believe the amount of money corporations spend for a slot during the Super Bowl?!?

Your Chamber has many more affordable ways for you to advertise. All members are in our directory and on our website. TriMet New MAX trains coming in 2015 will have better seating

Based on feedback from riders, TriMet is improving the seating layout on the next generation of MAX Light Rail vehicles coming in 2015 as part of the Portland-Milwaukie Light Rail Transit Project.

  • In the new "parlor cabs" (the areas at the coupled end of each vehicle), most seats will be facing the vehicle doors, so you can see oncoming foot traffic.
  • There will also be more legroom in the seats near the center door windscreens.
  • In the center section of the train, they're removing two notoriously uncomfortable seats (if you've tried to sit there, you know what they're talking about!). And all seats in the center section will face the aisle, as they do on many of their older trains.

Thanks to everyone who weighed in! Click to learn more about the new MAX trains.
